Want to know the superpower that will define business success in 2026?

It’s not AI.

It’s not Elon or Donald.

It’s not even having a fancy LinkedIn title with “Thought Leader” in it (even though that would be cool to get - and I know some of my subscribers already have it).

It’s something so basic, so fundamental, that it’s almost embarrassing to write about.

The Secret? Do What You Say

That’s it. That’s the newsletter.

(Just kidding, keep reading...)

Here’s what’s wild: This used to be the bare minimum to do business. The absolute baseline. Now? It’s become a superpower. An actual competitive advantage.

We’re living in an epidemic of unfulfilled promises:

  • “I’ll get back to you tomorrow” (They didn’t)

  • “Let’s circle back next week” (Translation: Let’s pretend this conversation never happened)

  • “It’s at the top of my priority list” (Right below scrolling Instagram for 3 hours)

  • “Your call is important to us” (But not important enough to hire more people)

The Maths Is Simple

If you consistently do what you say:

  • You’re automatically better than 99.9% of your competition

  • Your customer satisfaction scores will skyrocket

  • Your team will trust you

  • Your business will grow

Not because you’re doing anything revolutionary. But because you’re doing something that’s become revolutionary by its scarcity: Following through.

That’s it

No frameworks. No complicated strategies. No 12-step processes.

Yet somehow we’ve created a business world where:

  • 5 follow-up emails is “normal”

  • “ASAP” means “whenever I get around to it”

  • And “end of day” could mean any day in the next quarter

The solution?

Just do what you say.

Your customers will think you’re a unicorn.

Your team will think you’re a genius.

Your competition will wonder what your secret is.

And you’ll be sitting there knowing that your “competitive advantage” is simply keeping your word.

Until next week,

Sid

P.S. I promised this would be a short newsletter. Look at me, doing what I say.

If you know someone who needs this reminder (we all do), share this post. I promise it’ll help. And yes, that’s a promise I intend to keep.
